Heh. Indeed.

John McCain lays the smackdown on Barack Obama:

Dear Senator Obama:

I would like to apologize to you for assuming that your private assurances to me regarding your desire to cooperate in our efforts to negotiate bipartisan lobbying reform legislation were sincere. When you approached me and insisted that despite your leadership's preference to use the issue to gain a political advantage in the 2006 elections, you were personally committed to achieving a result that would reflect credit on the entire Senate and offer the country a better example of political leadership, I concluded your professed concern for the institution and the public interest was genuine and admirable. Thank you for disabusing me of such notions with your letter to me dated February 2, 2006, which explained your decision to withdraw from our bipartisan discussions. I'm embarrassed to admit that after all these years in politics I failed to interpret your previous assurances as typical rhetorical gloss routinely used in politics to make self-interested partisan posturing appear more noble. Again, sorry for the confusion, but please be assured I won't make the same mistake again."

This is only the first paragraph, folks.  Read the rest.  And yes, I would vote for McCain/Lieberman (more likely if it was the other way around).  It's not about politics.  It's about balls.

IE my Senator is a two faced lying snake in the grass... Yep, that seems right for our politicians.

You know what Senator McCain said to me and Carren after bringing Bob *spit* Schiffer along with him to visit me in Walter Reed?

"Well, we all know why we're here... for the Photo-op."--in case you missed it, them are quotation marks.

I don't know if it's about balls. If you wanna chew ass for someone pulling out of a deal, do so in private. What is his purpose in posting the letter on his website? Surely, he doesn't expect Obama to read his site for umbrage. You don't suppose it could be to garner publicity (even a little bit) if the media picks up on his scathing little memo? (No bad press, after all.)

A bigger--wait, he's short, really short--and I only met him while I was lying down--no, a better man would've chastized him face to face, called him out to the steps for a fight, or, God Forbid, written a ground-breaking piece of legislature and then shunned Obama from having anything to do with it, other than vote for it. That's not to say that Obama didn't withdraw his support for other reasons... like maybe the lobbying reform bill that the pipsqueak was writing was way off base, or destined to fail, or just plain ineffective, and Obama decided that his "private assurances" were sort of like agreeing to whatever the older kid says just because you want them to like you. And, until you get your feet on the ground, it's best not to make enemies.

John McCain is a nutjob, and is surely looking for another "Photo-op."

And you can take that from a guy with only one ball.
