Congratulations Mr. Justice!

Samuel A. Alito, Jr. was confirmed as the 110th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States this morning by a vote of 58-42.

He was subsequently sworn in and will make his debut as Associate Justice at tonight's State of the Union Address.

It's nice when good things happen in spite of a**holes, don't you think?

I think I am gonna like da judge. I like the way he made the dim-a-crits look like the raving slobbering at the fat jowls fools that they are.

Well, yes, it is nice when "good" things happen, unfortunately, I disagree with this being a "good thing" because of his record of writings on executive power and promoting the expansion thereof.

I believe in the checks and balances system put in place by the founders. It is too bad that so many partisans cannot see past the present holder of the office of President to the long-term effects of the changes being made today to remove the checks on executive power. What will be said by the current cheerleaders when a member of a different party is President and exercises these same expanded powers, I wonder...

Never forget the law of unintended consequences.
